About this trip

I'm Rob Ainsley. I cycled the length of Taiwan — along the east coast from Fuguei in the north to Eluanbi Peninsula in the south — with my chum Tim Burford in January 2017.

The End to End route was roughly 370 miles (see map on right with mile counters — there's also a larger version) and took nine days of cycling. We cycled about 550 miles in total, including city-based day-trips, while in Taiwan.

We used hire bikes from Giant. We picked up in one of their stores in Taipei, and returned them to a branch in Kaohsiung. There's a page on this blog with information for anyone planning to cycle-tour here.
